"The Grand Canyon (Arizona) Chapter was formed in 1966 as a way to help focus attention
on stopping dams in Grand Canyon. The work to protect the Colorado River and Grand
Canyon National Park continue today.
The Grand Canyon Chapter helped win designation of four million acres of wilderness
in Arizona, stopped numerous old growth logging proposals, helped restore and protect
Fossil Creek, and continues to work to protect the Verde and San Pedro Rivers. We
have won passage of key environmental legislation including the Environmental Quality
Act, which protects our air and water, and the Heritage Fund, which provides funding
for parks and wildlife, and have helped defeat legislation that would undercut environmental
protections.
Our chapter has helped promote clean renewable energy and energy efficiency programs
as well as measures to improve air quality by supporting mass transit and a Clean
Car standards."

"The Colorado Plateau Intertribal Conversations is coordinated by the Grand Canyon Trust as a way to develop meaningful conservation work guided by the traditional knowledge of tribal communities. The main focus of the Colorado Plateau Intertribal Gatherings is to reconnect the Colorado Plateau tribes through traditional methods and reawaken time-tested stories, songs, and methodologies to preserve landscapes and resources for future generations. Four priority areas are driving elder recordings, youth cultural immersion camps, conferences, volunteer projects, and funding:
- Water: strengthen Native peoples sacred relationship with water
- Health: support better health through the revitalization of traditional farming, foods, and exercise, and bonding these activities with conservation teachings
- Language and Culture: support language and cultural preservation through stories, songs, and teachings that perpetuate land protection ethics
- Sacred Sites: strengthen networks, resources, and tools for long term protection of sacred sites."

"Joe's gaiters are made of light weight, four-way-stretch
Lycra. They are cool, breathable and very comfortable to wear. They attach on the
front of your shoe to the front most shoelace via a hook. The rear is held in place
by a Velcro tab. The tension of the stretch material keeps them in place. You slip
them on before putting on your shoes. Then just attach the hook and the Velcro tab
to your shoe. The design makes it very easy to change shoes and socks and then reattach
the gaiter. Velcro and glue for your shoes is included. "
